How a job runs

  1. Send your details

Make, model, year, VIN and a photo of your key. That tells me the exact chip, frequency and blade before I quote.

  2. Get a fixed price

One all-up number, including travel. If your car is outside what my equipment covers, I tell you straight away.

  3. Key is ordered

Keys and blades are ordered for your exact car. Allow 10–15 days, so book before you're down to your last key.

  4. Programmed at your car

I come to your driveway or workplace and program through the diagnostic port. Bring your rego papers and driver licence.

Questions people ask

How much does a spare car key cost?
Spare keys start at $140 all-up: a $50 aftermarket key, $70 programming and $20 travel around Essendon. Smart keys and travel further across Melbourne are priced into your quote, so you get one fixed price before anything is ordered.
Do you come to me?
Yes, anywhere in Melbourne. I program the key at your car, at home or at work. Travel is $20 around Essendon and nearby suburbs; anywhere else is quoted upfront and included in your all-up price.
Can you do my car if I've lost every key?
Often, yes, on supported cars. It's $70 programming per key plus a $30 all-keys-lost fee. If the car is locked, unlocking adds $180. See all keys lost.
How soon can you do it?
Most keys are ordered to match your car's chip, frequency and blade, which takes 10–15 days, so book before you're down to your last key. Some cars can take a universal key, so same-day service may be possible. Ask when you message.
What if the key won't program?
If I supply the key and can't make it work, you don't pay. If you supply your own key and it turns out to be the wrong type or won't accept programming, there is a $50 call-out.
What do I need on the day?
Your registration papers and driver licence, plus every key you have for the car.
